This is Becoming a Pattern: Vim Shops for Bustle

Hello, Dear Readers! I've just started a new job, which is exciting, but also intense. So let me introduce you to one of Vim's stress-relieving, coping mechanisms - imaginary shopping! It's fun, but less stressful than actual shopping, because you're not spending any money.* Also, you don't even need to leave the comfort of your home, because - the internet.
You know that thing that happens, when you're shopping for a gift for someone, you always find something for yourself? But if you're shopping for yourself, you inevitably find things for other people? Well, that's been happening to me a lot, so I present to you (and to her) Vim's Top Finds For Bustle! (Sure, these ideas may have been inspired by Bustle, but I think you may just find a few things you'll want for yourself).
Bustle's favorite pattern is houndstooth. She's also been known to sport quite a bit of plaid. AND, she is also the only 13 year-old I have ever known to brave, and nay, rock, a tweed. (Bustle and I have known each other a loooong time). Such is her preppy power. So the following dresses just cried out to me.
It's the holy combo of t-shirt and dress! Comfy!
She's from Downton Abbey, it's too hot for sleeves, and she means business!
I own nary a speck of tweed myself, but honestly? Would wear. It kind of reminds me of when Kristin Stewart wears Chanel.
This one really leans into its houndstooth-iness - very cute!
And now, for something completely different.
But you can't live on dresses alone (though I've been accused of it). So, here are some kicky tops!
Pretty! And with a hint of plaid.
Sometimes Bustle likes a little edge with her prep.
And sometimes she leans a little bohemian.
And she legitimately owned this shirt in the 80s, I'm pretty sure. Bustle, if you're feeling nostalgic, it's back.
Everyone needs this skirt, don't you think?
Did I mention her penchant for PLAID? I also want this coat for myself.
Kerchiefs are back, y'all! She's one of the few I know who could pull them off. Nordstroms has LOTS of kerchiefs.
At some point I told her what I was doing, and asked if she had any special requests. She wanted an Easter dress and some leopard heels (LEOPARD! IT'S LIKE I'M PSYCHIC). I deliver!
So Sunny!
Demure and classy.
Let's get this egg-hunt started!
If you just can't pick a pattern.
At your request, Madam!
To conclude, I have enjoyed styling my best friend, as though she were my own personal paper doll. (And kind of hope she follows up this post with one where she styles me!) . My childhood whimsy is clearly still intact. I'm just dangerous now, because I have a credit card.
*(Note: imaginary shopping can occasionally lead to actual shopping).
